At this Web site, you will find the winners of the “Crossing Borders: Stretching My World” contest. Students were to create posters that showed mutual respect. Scroll down to view the posters that won. Do you think the students conveyed the idea of respect? Why or why not?

The “Respect” page for Sweet Posters shows several posters reflecting the concept of respect. One poster shows a boy talking to an elderly man in a wheelchair. Another picture is of a group of boys. Do you think respect should be given to everyone regardless of age? Why or why not?
Read Exodus 19:16-20:21. Then discuss the following questions as a family:
What does the word respect mean to you?How does God tell us to treat others? How does respecting others honor God?
Let each member say one sentence of a family prayer in which you ask God to help you respect others as a way to honor him.

Get them inside of you and then get them inside your children. Talk about them wherever you are, sitting at home or walking in the street; talk about them from the time you get up in the morning to when you fall into bed at night.”
