Men’s Fraternity
What do you think of when you hear “Men’s Fraternity”?
It is not a remembrance back to your college days.
It is a new element in our Men’s Ministry at Redland.
Several years ago I was invited to attend a men’s breakfast at my Father-in-laws church. To be honest I was interested in the guest speaker. The food was good, but when I heard Matt Stover the kicker for the Baltimore Ravens was speaking, I wanted to go and hear about his Christian journey. It was great hearing him talk about the other players and his family, but what caught my attention was this men’s group, called Men’s Fraternity. This ministry helped transform his life, his family, and his walk with Christ. I was excited to learn more about this ministry. Unforunately where I served was not the right time for it to begin. It is thorugh times like this, I have learned that sometimes God gives me a vision and I have to wait on His timing.
God’s timing never fails! This past year I was attending a recreation ministry conference and I attended a session on men’s ministry. I felt this emotion rising up in me and I charged out the door. I had to share my excitement with someone. So, I called my senior pastor and friend to share what I just heard. We scheduled a time for me to “debrief” the conference with him and now we are on the road to launching this new level in our men’s ministry.
What is Men’s Fraternity?
According to the website, http://www.mensfraternity.com, “Men’s Fraternity is a series of three one-year-long studies, beginning with The Quest for Authentic Manhood, followed by Authentic Manhood: Winning at Work and Home, and concluding with The Great Adventure series. More than just a rally or a Bible study, Men’s Fraternity provides men with an encouraging process that teaches them how to live lives of authentic manhood as modeled by Jesus Christ and directed by the Word of God.
Men’s Fraternity was designed to help men come together and strengthen each other through weekly sessions that combine biblical teaching and small group interaction.
These time-tested resources have been used all over the world to equip men to make their pursuit of noble manhood a lifelong priority. Church leaders and lay members are using the series to energize the men of their church and to connect with men in the community. Many men also use the series in their own personal pursuit of authentic manhood.”

I look forward to seeing you this fall in Men’s Fraternity.
