In family devotions or prayer time, talk about one line of The Lord’s Prayer per evening for the next week or two.  What did Jesus mean in each line?  How does that line “translate” into our time and our family?

Browse through some of the issues of Christian History magazine to find examples of people who have shown attitudes that please God. What specific attitudes do you find that would make God happy today? How can we learn more about how to live in a way that pleases God?

Click on this site to read the review of the book, The Prayer of Jabez for Little Ones. Ask a family member to read the verse on the screen aloud. What can you learn about an attitude that pleases God from these lines?

Take a few moments to consider these questions:
• What have you learned about attitudes from these web sites? Which attitudes please God? Explain your answers.
• How can attitudes affect the things that you do for others? Can good things be done for wrong reasons? Explain. What can you do to develop good attitudes that please God? Talk about this as a family.

Read about the background of the Prayer Peaks ministry. How have the people involved in this ministry shown what it means to be faithful? What are some ways that we can be faithful?

Once you reach this “Practicing Our Faith” Web site, read the descriptions of the practices listed there and “Why Practices Matter.” What does it mean to practice our faith? Is it like practicing baseball or math problems? Do we get better as we practice? Why does faith take practice?

As a family, make a list of faith practices that you can concentrate on for the next month. Discuss how you can use the list to apply your faith in practical ways. In other words, don’t just talk about it-plan what you will do about it! Then get busy working together to practice your faith.
